The Beekay model takes inspiration in such legendary players as Howling Wolf, T-bone Walker and the instruments favored by like minded players of the jump blues and electric blues era. An extensively chambered mahogany body capped with a Sitka or maple top insures a lightweight instrument with surprising acoustic projection. A nickel platted (cast) proprietary tailpiece adorns the instrument, lending a tasteful Art-Deco flair. Available in a variety of color options and pickup configurations. Six string electric banjo Beekay demo
This variation on our Beekay model was created for renown clawhammer instructor and player Tom Collins. This was a request for a purely electric (no rim, no drum skin..) 6 string banjo, tuned like a 5 string but with the added low G string (gGDGBD) - commonly referred as a 5+1 banjo!
