“Bird of Paradise” Blue burst Rosetta M2

Loosely inspired by vintage Hawaiian postcard illustrations and 1960’s Italian toy design, this breezy Rosetta M2, in Halcyon blue burst, is the latest archtop to come out of the shop.

Every couple of years I put time aside to work on a special project that pushes my boundaries as a maker and allows me the creative freedom to approach guitar building from a slightly different angle. These guitars are worked on alongside my curent production of orders and usually available for purchase.

I’m excited to finally unveil this latest creation 💙

This is a cool (and rare) opportunity to skip my wait list and acquire a unique instrument directly from me. Do get in touch should you have a marked interest in this instrument!

ROSETTA Model 3

ROSETTA MODEL 3

With several months in the making, it’s a great pleasure to finally unveil the third iteration of our Rosetta model - M3 - A collaborative journey designed for my friend Mark Moldre and meant to inauggurate the launch of his most recent album, Nambucca Fables.

This is a walnut guitar with a laminated/arched maple top, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard - other new features on the M3 include a slim 2” deep body, Venetian cutaway, Bigsby B3 vibrato system and a pair of airy Curtis Novak pickups (black foil in neck and kay style pancake in bridge).

Aged avocado burst with checked lacquer finish, old school tortoise pickguard and some pretty nifty 1940’s vacuum tube radio knobs.

The Rosetta Model 3 can be ordered in a number of different wood essences as well as colors, please get in touch with any inquiries.

ROSETTA Model 2

Initially released as a carved top, Rosetta was one of the first electric guitar designs to come out of our shop. We took some time earlier this year to redesign the model as a full fledged, parlor sized, acoustic archtop. Molds were built and lots of spruce was bent! In essence, the model draws its roots in pre-war instrument design and we wanted it to feel that way, through and through.

ROSETTA - MODEL 2

Rosetta 35mm 3-4 close profile.jpg

Rosetta Model 2 is a 13 fret, archtop, parlor electric guitar. Built with an adjustable neck design, a slotted headstock and your choice of colour and finish. Instrument construction is as follows: laminated arched spruce top, mahogany (or Spanish cedar) neck, mahogany (maple, sapele or walnut) arched back and sides.

Comes in two body sizes and scale lengths: 24.75” & 19” - with 12.75” & 9” respective lower bouts. The short scale version has dimensions close to a six string baritone ukulele (tuned to A Standard).

The original carved top Rosetta is still available. We also offer a Steeltop Resophonic version, for those times a traditional electric just won't cut through the mix.

ROSETTA Model 2 (twelve string)

ROSETTA 12 STRING (MODEL 2)

I am excited to unveil the very first twelve string Rosetta parlor archtop to come out of the shop. Definitely a challenging request, but I’m glad my client so adamantly pushed for it.

The guitar features beautifully quartered sapele back and sides and a mahogany neck (with maple fingerboard) complementing the soft yellow spruce top.
We had some fun with the bridge, bindings and pickguard here (all in white with floral motif)…with hopes the accents would subtly hint toward fine porcelain. The entire thing came out looking quite precious while still remaining incredibly fun to play - oh, the inside of the guitar is also lined with some pretty snazzy vintage-style floral wallpaper!

Mini Rosetta (model 2) - 19” short scale, in Fiesta red with Italian tortoise pickguard

SHORT SCALE (MINI) ROSETTA

The Mini Rosetta is a baritone ukulele sized, 19” scale, six string archtop guitar built with the same construction and to the same standards as our Rosetta Model 2.

The instrument can be tuned to either A or G standard, depending on the string gauge, and features a 9” lower bout which most likely makes it the smallest archtop guitar you will ever come across.

This is a spruce top guitar with mahogany back and side construction - Selmer-Maccaferri style slotted headstock, with an adjustable DeArmond Rhythm Chief magnetic pickup.
